Michael recently visited UCLA to speak to young students of a College to Career Acting; teaching students from all over the world about how to maximize their headshots and providing information to young actors how to stay on top of their developing careers.

CTCA is a program where academia and industry experts come together to educate and inspire talented students amazing things can happen. Successful actors have agents, managers, and publicists to help guide their careers. Until now, no one has provided this guidance for young actors who are just launching their careers. College To Career Acting was formed by two successful casting directors, Wendy Kurtzman and Caroline Liem. Both have 35 years of collective experience in theatre, film, and television, and their mission is to fill that void and guide performers through two important transitions in order to ACTualize their future. From the program’s mission statement:

CTCA helps actors develop a professional “tool kit” equipped with strategies, clear objectives and access to the resources that will empower them to succeed in the professional world.  The focus in college is on the craft of acting, and college programs do a tremendous job in their preparation. However, the transition from Academia to the Industry requires a unique set of skills and strategies. CTCA teaches students how to connect with their colleagues in the Film/TV community and market themselves to those who will hire them.

The program’s main objective is to get young actors/actresses to start thinking about crafting their careers — to help them get into the college of their choice, stay pro-active during college and then help with the transition into the Entertainment business.
