To our readers,

I wanted to discuss the importance of standing out with your headshots as an actor. You must stand out to casting directors and agents.

They look through thousands of headshots at a time. On average, your headshot is looked at for less than one-third of a second. That period of time is about how long it takes you to blink twice. So actors, it is important that you do everything that you can to stand out in your headshot. And now the industry is moving away from printing and toward thumbnails and web casting, such as LA Casting, Actors Access, etc…

So, the time for headshots that make an impact and do not have boring backgrounds and flat lighting is now. Your pictures must be optimized for the web, the colors must be rich, and your eyes have to POP. How is this done? Well, there are various methods to make this happen. It can done with lighting, clothing, background, etc. I would like to open this article up to you, the readers. Please ask me any questions you may have and I will be glad to answer them.

And for further information please visit our website at www.michaelroud.com. Attached are some samples of our headshot that have a POP factor. Agents and Casting Directors have overwhelmingly responded to these shots.
