Happy StarMeter Tuesday!

There has been a lot of buzz in the studio lately about IMDb StarMeter rankings. You might be thinking, what in the world is that? I already stress about my age and weight — now another number to think about?? Take a deep breathe. The IMDb StarMeter is not going to make or break your career, but a low number/high ranking can certainly be a great marketing tool! The ranking is a reflection of how popular you have been in people’s recent IMDb and online searches. The more hits your page receives, the better. So yes, encouraging those fans, friends, and moms to visit your IMDb page will help your score.

Also, make sure all the films you have already done are listed on IMDb to boost your ranking. Activity is key. Remind filmmakers you’ve worked with to submit too, sometimes it takes multiple people submitting one project to get it credited on the site. There is a certain legitimacy that comes with having your projects listed on IMDb, so use that to your advantage. And remember, casting directors often use IMDb as a resource to get to know actors that are being pitched to them. So get those new killer headshots, as well as your updated resume and reel, uploaded onto your IMDb page. You never know who’s looking!
