The 57th GRAMMYs: MRP Picks
Here’s a countdown of MRP Team’s favorite moments from this year’s GRAMMY Awards – the good, the weird, and the shady:
10. Ed Sheeran & John Mayer performing “Thinking Out Loud” as a duo! Sheeran may look like an adorable leprechaun hipster, but the guy can sing.

9. Madonna’s majestic ham hock thighs – and that intense number she pulled with her backup goat-demon dancers, which was the most watched moment of the night. *Cue satanic illuminati conspiracy theorists*
8. Kristen Wiig & Maddie Ziegler frolicking to Sia’s ‘CHANDELIER’ – We’re just glad it wasn’t Lena Dunham.
7. We weren’t invited to Rihanna’s quinceañera, but her dress looked great.
6. Katy Perry’s powerful performance accompanied by a message from President Obama on domestic violence. The shadow dancing was cool, but we were kind of hoping Left Shark would make an appearance. We’ll get over it.

5. Lady Gaga came out of hiding and decided to forego the dagger boobs and chainsaw legs – she actually showed up looking normal (and totally gorgeous). Her performance of ‘Cheek to Cheek’ with legendary Tony Bennett was fantastic. They both won Grammys for the song, too!
4. Pharrell channeling ‘Zero’ from Grand Budapest Hotel. You can take our bags to Room 108, good sir!
3. Kanye West stormed the stage for another IMMA LET YOU FINISH moment after BECK’s ‘Morning Phase’ won Album Of The Year – and everyone almost died.
BONUS: The look of sheer terror on Jay Z’s face as Beyoncé screams “NO KANYE, NO!” – followed by a national sigh of relief. GET THIS DUDE OFF THE STAGE.
2. Our favorite performance of the night, no contest – ANNIE LENNOX & HOZIER performing “Take Me To Church” and “I Put A Spell On You”. How anyone could take the stage after that, we have no idea. The woman is on her 6th decade of living and she can still belt Ariana Grande under the table until her high ponytail comes flying off.

1. Sam Smith walked away with 4 Grammys, including Best New Artist and Record of The Year, to nobody’s surprise. Then he cackled as he walked off into the darkness, ripping his mask off and revealing that he’s actually Adele.
Other noteworthy stuff that happened:
[checklist]
- There was an ear-shattering duet by Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani that left us confused and cringing. They’re great artists individually, but with Levine’s nasally, Lois Griffin-esque sound and Gwen’s sultry, guttural wailing, their vocal styles clashed horrendously. Nails on a chalkboard, but hey, at least they’re gorgeous humans.
- Kim Kardashian was dressed like a bedazzled, steampunk Cap’n Crunch.
- A performance by Kanye West, Rihanna, and Paul McCartney was majorly hyped but ended up underwhelming because, oh, you know – THEY FORGOT TO TURN PAUL’S MIC ON.
- Beyoncé‘s performance was so glorious she made herself cry.
- Charli XCX got hammered at an after party and became ‘that girl’ everyone wants to party with until she starts breaking things.
- Even though everyone thought Kanye West was joking with his pretend ‘IMMA LET YOU FINISH’ with Beck, he later stated Beck should “respect artistry and give his award to Beyoncé.” – WALK AWAY, YEEZUS. Just walk away.
- Beyonce, Pharrell, and Sam Smith were tied for most Grammy nominations this year and Sammy ended up walking away with the most awards.
